Beat June Gloom, have fun for FREE!!!

Summertime and the living is easy!!  Im pretty pumped about summer, who isn't!? There is something new to me this summer as far as events go: FREE BOWLING for kids.  How awesome is that?  Teachers bowl free too!  If you dont fit in those categoroes its ok, Irvine Lanes in Lake Forrest has .50 bowling sundays, FIFTY CENTS!  Thats practically free in this day and age!

June 21-23 The Greek Festival!  This is fun for everyone pastries, dancing, carnival, food and WINE!

The Art-A-Fair is in season too! This may not be the coolest thing but its a nice addition to any beach day in laguna.  Heck, it's a great excuse to go to Laguna!!! They have live music at the Art-A-Fair which is always good.  Check out Wylands while you're there and The Secret Life of Dr. Seuss, so much cool stuff for the eyes to see!  If you happen to be over 21,  they have great art walks on the first thursday of every month and many of the galleries serve wine.  Its so fancy!

The Orange county Great Park is having FREE Movies on their Lawn this summer!  They will be playing from sunset until 10PM every Friday and Saturday.  And lets not forget about the Free Movies on the beach at newport Dunes I posted about last month.  They are still happening!

Be on the lookout for concerts in the park!  They are EVERYWHERE! Seriously, you will probably see signs for them and also you can find them in the paper for whatever city you are interested in.

Now if your birthday falls in June, I have a special treat for you!
I came across this list of freebies for you, you lucky dog, you.

Freebies in the month of May!

Alright guys and Gals,
Its that time of the month! And Im going to start with an event that I actually look forward to every year. . .
The Annual Street Painting Festival in Mission Viejo at The Norman P. Murray Community Center!!
I have never made it to the festival during the hours of operation, but going when its dark to check out the art is just as satisfying.  ITS SO AMAZING!!!

May 4 from 10:30-5:30 p.m. Is the Annual International Festival at Soka University in Aliso Viejo.   Music, Performers and Crafting oh my!  Fun for Adults and children.  They are doing some kind of new fun with chalk street painting thing here this year too!  Of course the event is FREE however, parking is $10 on campus, I recommend parking off site :)

May 11 there is a Rocket Launch at the Boeing Company!  Just head over to Huntington Beach and try not to be too tempted by the delicious food trucks, cause they will be there.

May 24-27, Strawberry Festival!!  This one is in Garden Grove off Euclid & Main Street.  Again, you'll have to resist some pretty tasty fair food and rides but if you can do that then its FREE!
http://strawberryfestival.org/

Last but not least is another personal favorite, Newport Dunes Beach Movies!!   Most Friday and Saturdays from now through the end of summer you can park outside of the resort and walk over to see the movie for FREE.  It is a bit of a walk, so be prepared!  You will know exactly where to go though, just follow the people.  I recommend bringing a friend, something to drink (alcohol is allowed), and some food!  It gets a little noisy sometimes cause there are a lot of kids but its still really cool.
May 25 they are showing finding Nemo; May 31 they are showing ParaNorman

To Freefinity and beyond!!!!

April Fools!! :)

You thought I was going to forget didn't you?  No way man!  There may only be 2 days left of March, but here it is as promised: April Fools Day Pranks For the OFFICE! None of these trusted classics will cost you any money, of course.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

The Ol' mouse trick:

Cover the mouse sensor with a small piece of paper and tape, or the sticky portion of a post it note, it also helps if you write "April Fools" on the paper.  Your unsuspecting co worker will think the mouse is broken or out of batteries until they turn it over to see your note.

Tight Pants: this works great on pregnant co workers.  Bring a easy to rip piece of fabric with you to work and as your associate bends over, tear the fabric! If you do this correctly theres a good chance they will think their pants ripped.

Hostage:

Take a beloved item from the victims desk and snap a photo of it.  Leave the photo on their desk with a "ransom" note (this may also be an easy way to get some free coffee monday).

Wimp:

Glue a colleagues pen caps onto the opposite side of the pen (so that they can still use the pen).  They wont be able to put the cap back on correctly this may drive them nuts.

The Interior Designer:

Method #1-Decorate a co workers keyboard with tiny stickers.
or
Method#2-Decorate your colleagues desk with Justin Bieber or their rival sports team paraphernalia.

Copy That:
Make some copies of a paperclip then put them into the paper tray of the copier.  People will go nuts trying to find a paperclip stuck to the copier.

Rubber Ducky:
Find a small rubber ducky and sanitize it thoroughly.  Carefully remove the jug from the office cooler and squeeze the small duck inside.  Replace the jug and enjoy!

The OTHER door:
This trick works great in a building that has only two entrances.  Print two signs that say "Please use other door" and post them on each door with arrows pointing towards opposite door.

Remember to use these with caution, I don't want anyone getting fired on Monday!
:)
Happy Pranking!

FREE things to do in Orange County this March!

My goal was to have the latest happenings posted on the first of every month but, February was just too short.  First, Fourth, they both start with F's.  I do apologize if you missed the awesome Festival of Whales in Dana Point this last weekend however, I have good news!  It will still be going on this weekend, March 9th and 10th!  The Festival of Whales in Dana Point is wholesome fun for all ages.  It's a really great way to pass time with tons too see and buy, but you dont have to!!  Bring a lunch or buy something cheap for nourishment.

Oh St Patties day . . .  you're like the pied piper to my dollars. There are endless cool bars to be festive at in Orange County, but that is almost a sure way to get yourself broke and this blog is not about that!

Its about doing things for FREE and jumping in your community to mingle.  In March we have the events at the OC Marketplace such as . . .

St. Patrick's Day Celebration & Green Festival on Sunday March 17th 10am to 4.  This ones $2 bucks but I think thats worth it for the trash bag fashion show alone!

check out this flyer and coupon

They are also having the K-Earth Radio 101's FM Bugstock.  Its on Saturday March 30th and will also cost $2.00.  It might be worth it if you love VW's and/or Beatles Tribute Bands.  Click here for more info.

Back to the freebies:
Welcome the faithful little Swallows at the Swallows Day Parade & Mercado in Downtown San Juan Capistrano!  It's Saturday March 23.  The Parade starts at 11am and the Mercado (spanish market) runs 8-5pm.  Heres the official site.

The OC Great Park has these sporty sunday things going on so if you have just been aching to learn how to play Ladder Ball or Frisbee Golf then you are in luck!  March 10th is their free Frisbee Golf workshop and March 17th is the Ladder Ball workshop, 10am-2pm.

Last but not least, EASTER!  Im not even going to post all of the easter extravaganzas that are going on, there are so many and it should be pretty easy to check the newspaper for which town(s) your willing to go to for flashlight hunts, church services and brunches.  What I will do is post some of the Easter Highlights!

The 7th Annual Easter Festival will be held on March 24th at the OC Marketplace.
Heres a coupon for free admission.  It's 9:30am-2:30pm.

Theres a Bunny Blast in Lake forest at El Toro Park.  I had to post this because I heard Alice and her Wonderland friends will be there!!  Theres a Giant Ferris Wheel, Magician, Petting zoo and Live music!! Saturday March 23 from 11-3. Yippee!

Its hard to resist A free picture with the Easter Bunny even as an adult so go ahead and get one at the Farmers Market and Craft Fair in Anaheim!  They will also have Easter Bunny Karaoke! Thursday, March 28th from 12-7pm in Downtown Anaheim.  Center Street Promenade & Lemon.

To make up for my late posting of this blog, I will be posting a bonus blog during March with cheap and easy April Fools jokes!  Muahahahahaha!!!

P.S. Follow me on twitter for cool freebies you can get sent to you through mail @nobody1185

Free things to LOVE doing in Orange County on Valentines day

Well Valentines Day is approaching, the most useless money spending day of the year.  Lucky for all my broke ass bitches and bro's,  I've created this list of free happenings.  Whether you love or hate Valentines, this list just may help you get through it.

Get v-day SEXY and take a FREE Jazzercize class in Tustin on Saturday February 9th!!  Its from 8-9 a.m. and seems like it might be a bit of an older lady crowd but then again, when isn't Jazzercize an older lady crowd? At least its a workout!  Check out www.jazzwithme.com for more info

If your looking for a cool place to go and feel fancy even though you may not be, try the Old World Village Chocolate and Wine Festival.  Its from 12 noon -7 p.m.  February 11 and 12 and guess what, it's FREE!!!  They'll have wine and chocolate tastings and lots of stuff you can purchase should you want to waste your money.  Just watch out for the actual fancy people, or better yet, befriend them and get them to buy you stuff. i.e. wine!

If you would rather lounge at home and get frisky, whether it be with yourself or a lover.  Perhaps FREE Redbox is more your style.  Thats right free Redbox on v-day, just use the promocode HEART or SWEET on February 14.  Be sure to turn it in the next day or you will be charged, therefore defeating the purpose of money saving.

The Great Park has FREE rides in the giant orange balloon Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday They also have a super special Farmers Market that Sunday.  Go shout your love from 400 feet in the air!  This is fun for any and everybody. GO!  I dare you :)

If you will be hanging out with kids this Valentines and have to eat, why not go to Johnny Rockets?!  Kids eat FREE with a paying adult and that place is just cool.  Wingnuts in Costa Mesa has A similar deal (its actually every Tuesday and Thursday) aaand . . . Claim Jumper too!! Only kids under 2 eat free at Claim Jumper.

Last but not least, If you love the planet, why not try guerilla Gardening.  Its random, and its an option.
It's also really fun!  I like to seed bomb the cracks in sidewalks that I walk past everyday.  If you happen to live in the shadier spots of OC, you might be able to get away with something like these guys in the bottom left. I like to pretend im being super scandalous and getting away with some crime, but who's really going to complain?
This is exactly how I define Guerilla Gardening!

Note the refined surrounding area.

One last thing.  Don't forget about FREE Pancake Day at IHOP on February 5th!!  Get em free until 10 p.m.  Mmm Mmmm

Happy February Folks! :)
